Derbyshire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs in the England and Wales domestic cricket structure. Founded in 1870, the club represents the historic county of Derbyshire across three major competitions: the County Championship, T20 Blast and One-Day Cup. Home matches are played at The County Ground in Derby, with Queen's Park in Chesterfield serving as a well-loved secondary venue.

The Falcons name honours the peregrine falcon that nests on Derby Cathedral, with the team previously known as the Scorpions and, before that, the Phantoms. The county's history includes Charles Ollivierre, who became one of the first black cricketers to play first-class cricket in England after joining Derbyshire in 1901.

Derbyshire's sole outright County Championship title came in 1936, secured under the captaincy of Arthur Richardson and built on the bowling of Bill Copson. Limited-overs success followed with the NatWest Trophy in 1981, the Sunday League title in 1990 and the Benson and Hedges Cup in 1993. Les Jackson remains the club's record wicket-taker, while wicketkeeper Bob Taylor won 57 Test caps for England.
