Born in 1985, Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest footballers of all-time. Full name Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro, but known worldwide as Ronaldo, the Portuguese is arguably the greatest goal scorer in football history, with countless goal scoring records to his name.

Sometimes referred to as CR7, Ronaldo has won an astonishing five of the annual Ballon d'Or awards, crowning him the best player in the world, as well as four European Golden Shoes for top scoring in European club football.

A scorer of over 100 goals for Portugal, Ronaldo led his country to their first ever major trophy at Euro 2016, and followed it up by winning the inaugural UEFA Nations League in 2019. Ronaldo has won more than 30 club trophies, including five UEFA Champions Leagues, and has won league titles in England, Spain and Italy. He started his footballing career at Sporting in Lisbon, before joining Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester United again.

On 30 December 2022, Cristiano Ronaldo agreed to join Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr from 1 January 2023 until 2025. He received the highest salary in football history, with a total annual salary of €200 million, including a guaranteed football salary of €90 million and commercial and sponsorship deals. Ronaldo rejected a move to Major League Soccer club Sporting Kansas City to join Al Nassr. Due to a ban incurred at Manchester United, he missed the match against Al-Tai on 5 January 2023. Ronaldo played his first game for Al Nassr on 19 January, scoring twice in a 5-4 loss against Paris Saint-Germain. He made his competitive debut on 22 January, playing the full 90 minutes as club captain in a 1-0 win over Al-Ettifaq and scoring his first goal in a 2-2 draw against Al-Fateh by converting a last-minute penalty. On 9 February, Ronaldo scored all four goals in a 4-0 win over Al Wehda, with his first goal being his 500th career league goal.
