About our PTSD news

Latest news on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), a mental health condition that can develop in people who have experienced or witnessed a traumatic event. These events may include military combat, sexual or physical assault, natural disasters, serious accidents, or the unexpected death of a loved one.

Symptoms of PTSD can include flashbacks, nightmares, severe anxiety, avoidance of reminders of the traumatic event, feeling detached from others, and feeling constantly on guard or easily startled. These symptoms can interfere with daily life and may persist for months or even years after the traumatic event.

Treatment for PTSD may include psychotherapy, medication, or a combination of both. Some effective forms of psychotherapy for PTSD include cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR). Support from family and friends can also be beneficial for those with PTSD.
