About our Department for Business and Trade news

Latest news on the Department for Business and Trade (DBT), a UK government department responsible for businesses, markets and trade policy.

The DBT was established on 7 February 2023, after Rishi Sunak's first government reshuffle as prime minister. The new department absorbed functions from the former Department for International Trade and Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy. The DBT is headed by the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, currently held by Kemi Badenoch.
