    Latest news on the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), a UK government department responsible for energy policy and Net Zero commitments.

    The DESNZ was established on 7 February 2023, after Rishi Sunak's first government reshuffle as prime minister. The new department took on energy policy responsibilities from the former Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). The DESNZ is headed by the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, currently held by Claire Coutinho.
