    About our Thames Water news

Latest news on Thames Water, the UK's largest water and wastewater company, serving 15 million customers in London and the Thames Valley. It is responsible for providing clean water, treating wastewater, and managing the sewer network. Thames Water also offers various services and support schemes to help customers with their bills, account management, and environmental issues.

Thames Water was founded in 1989 as a result of the privatisation of the water industry in England and Wales. It operates 102 water treatment works, 30 raw water reservoirs, 288 pumping stations, and 235 sewage treatment works. Thames Water is owned by a consortium of investors led by Macquarie Group, a global financial services company based in Australia.

Thames Water has faced criticism for its high leakage rates, environmental pollution incidents, and tax avoidance practices. Thames Water is to hike Londoners’ bills by £14.55 a month to fix leaks and cut sewage discharges. Thames Water has lodged its spending plans of almost £19 billion between 2025 and 2035 with regulators, which will include a record £4.7 billion investment in its network and other assets.
