    The 76ers were founded in 1946 as the Syracuse Nationals, one of the original members of the NBA's predecessor league, the Basketball Association of America (BAA). They won their first NBA championship in 1955, led by Hall of Famer Dolph Schayes. They moved to Philadelphia in 1963 and changed their name to the 76ers. They won their second NBA championship in 1967, led by Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain.
