Inter Miami is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and plays in the Eastern Conference of Major League Soccer (MLS). The club was established in 2018 by a group of investors led by David Beckham, who is also the president of soccer operations. Inter Miami's home stadium is Chase Stadium, which has a capacity 21,550. The club has a rivalry with Orlando City SC, a team which is also based in Florida.

Some of the notable players on Inter Miami's roster are Gonzalo Higuaín, Blaise Matuidi, Sergio Busquets, and Luis Suarez. The club also signed Lionel Messi from Barcelona in August 2023, making him the highest-paid player in MLS history. Messi made his debut for Inter Miami on September 3, 2023, against Los Angeles FC and scored two goals in a 4-2 win.
