Latest news on the British Open, a professional snooker tournament that was first established in 1980 and is normally held at the end of September. While the competition is over 50 years old it was not held for 17 years after it was removed from the calendar after the 2004/2005 season. In 2021 the event returned with Welsh snooker player Mark Williams winning the competition.
