Hull KR have a long-standing rivalry with their local rivals, Hull FC, and the two teams contest the Hull Derby, one of the most eagerly anticipated fixtures in the rugby league calendar. The club plays its home matches at the Craven Park stadium, which has a capacity of over 12,000.
They have won five league championships and one Challenge Cup. The club was formed in 1882 and joined the Northern Rugby Football Union in 1897. Their most successful period was during the late 1970s and early 1980s, with Roger Millward leading the club to three league titles between 1978 and 1985, and the club's only Challenge Cup win in 1980. The team has also won several other cups, including two RFL Championship Leaders' Shield and seven RFL Yorkshire Cup. They played their first Super League season in 2007 after a period of decline.
