    About our Nepal news

Latest current affair news on Nepal, including updates on social and domestic issues, crime, politics and international relations from trusted sources.

Officially known as the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, it is a landlocked country in South Asia. Nepal is mainly situated in the Himalayas, but also includes parts of the Indo-Gangetic Plain. Its capital and largest city is Kathmandu.

For a country of its size, Nepal has tremendous geographic diversity, including fertile plains, subalpine forested hills, and eight of the world's ten tallest mountains, including Mount Everest, the highest point on Earth.

Since the Constitution of Nepal, adopted in 2015, the country is governed by a secular federal parliamentary republic divided into seven provinces. Nepal hosts the permanent secretariat of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), of which it is a founding member.
