Latest news on the Ottawa Senators, a professional ice hockey team that competes in the NHL's Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference. The current team are the second franchise to use the name the Ottawa Senators after the original side relocated to St. Louis in 1934 due to financial difficulties. Renamed the St. Louis Eagles, the side only lasted one season before operations were halted.
Almost 60 years later, a local developer was granted permission by the NHL to re-establish the Ottawa Senators. The team rejoined the NHL in the 1992-93 season and have since reached the Stanley Cup Finals on one occasion in 2007.
