He is the chief executive officer (CEO) and 94% owner of Energetický a průmyslový holding (EPH), the largest energy group in Central Europe. Křetínský is also the co-owner and president of football club AC Sparta Prague and director and major shareholder of English football club West Ham United.

Křetínský has made a fortune by investing in various companies, including coal companies, high street retailers, supermarkets, and newspapers. He has also invested in football clubs, starting with Sparta Prague in 2004 and followed by West Ham in 2021.
