    Latest news on the FIFA World Cup, including updates, reaction and analysis from the 2026 men's World Cup that was hosted across the USA, Canada and Mexico. The 2026 World Cup was won by Spain, after they scored in extra time to beat Argentina 1-0.

    The 2026 FIFA World Cup was the first edition jointly hosted by three nations and the first to feature an expanded field of 48 teams. Staged from 11 June to 19 July across 16 cities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, it spanned 104 matches over 39 days. The United States hosted 78 games, with Canada and Mexico staging 13 each.

    The next men's FIFA World Cup is set to be held in 2030 with Spain, Portugal and Morocco acting as the main hosts. Three games of this tournament are also scheduled to be played in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay in order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first ever FIFA World Cup.
