About our Burnley FC news

Latest news on Burnley FC, a professional English football club based in Lancashire who were founded in 1882 and play at Turf Moor. Also known as the Clarets, Burnley are one of only five clubs to have ever won England's top four divisions. The side have won the first division on two separate occasions with historic victories respectively in 1921 and 1960.

Throughout the majority of their history the club have called Turf Moor home. The first game was played at this location in February 1883, less than one year after their founding. While the side initially started off in the colours of blue and white, in 1910 they changed their home kit to claret and blue, a colour design that has remained for over one hundred years.

Since the year 2000 Burnley have always played in England's top two divisions with four separate stints in the Premier League. The longest of these spells came under the guidance of manager Sean Dyche and lasted for six seasons between 2016 and 2022. Following their relegation after the 2021-22 season, Burnley appointed former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany as their head coach who lead them back to the top division in a record-breaking Championship season.
