About our Collingwood News

Latest news on Collingwood, a professional Australian rules football club who compete in the AFL. Founded in 1892, the Magpies are historically one of the sports most successful sides having won a total of 16 premierships and finishing runners-up a record 27 times.

Traditionally playing in the colours of black and white, the Pies have built up a number of club rivalries over their 130 year history. Fixtures against Geelong, Essendon and Melbourne are often highly anticipated affairs, but none of these compare to meeting their fiercest rivals, Carlton. The Carlton-Collingwood rivalry is considered one of the biggest in all of Australian sport, and the two sides share an almost equal win record having faced one another over 260 times.
