BT Group plc is a British multinational telecommunications company. Commonly referred to as BT, it was formerly known as British Telecom, and controls a number of large subsidiaries, including BT Global Services – which supplies telecoms services to corporate and government customers worldwide – while its BT Consumer division supplies telephony, broadband, and subscription television services in the UK.
