Kansas is considered a red state. In the federal government, Kansas is represented by two U.S. Senators and four U.S. Representatives. Both Senators Roger Marshall and Jerry Moran are Republican. Of the four Representatives, three are Republican and one is a Democrat. Kansas has a Democrat governor, Laura Kelly, who was narrowly reelected in 2022. The state legislature is also controlled by the Republicans, who have majorities in both chambers.
