About our 2023 Poland Elections news

Latest news on elections in Poland, including updates on the 2023 election which witnessed a significant turnout of 74.4%, the highest since the fall of the Polish People's Republic.

In this election, the right-wing Law and Justice (PiS) party, led by Jarosław Kaczyński, won the most seats (194) but lost its majority in the Sejm. The Civic Coalition, led by Donald Tusk, won 157 seats, while the Third Way alliance secured 65 seats. The Left and the Confederation won 26 and 18 seats, respectively. The opposition, comprising the Civic Coalition, Third Way, and The Left, garnered a combined vote total of 54% and is expected to form a coalition government. In the Senate, the opposition electoral alliance Senate Pact 2023 won a plurality of the vote and a majority of seats.
