Latest news on the 2024 US Presidential Election, which is scheduled for Tuesday, 5 November 2024.

The incumbent, President Joe Biden, announced his reelection campaign on 25 April 2023. His main challenger is likely to be former president Donald Trump, who announced his candidacy for president for a second, nonconsecutive term in November 2022.

From the Republican Party, besides Trump, several candidates have announced their campaigns: Nikki Haley, a former governor of South Carolina and ambassador to the United Nations, Vivek Ramaswamy, a biotech entrepreneur and author, Larry Elder, a conservative radio host and former California gubernatorial candidate, Perry Johnson, a businessman and motivational speaker, Asa Hutchinson, a governor of Arkansas, and Corey Stapleton, a former secretary of state of Montana.

Some other expected or possible contenders include Mike Pence, the former vice president, Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida, John Bolton, a former national security adviser, Tim Scott, a senator from South Carolina, Liz Cheney, a representative from Wyoming and critic of Trump, Greg Abbott, the governor of Texas, and Kristi Noem, the governor of South Dakota.
