Latest news on the TUC (Trades Union Congress). Founded in 1868, the Trades Union Congress (TUC) is a national trade union centre in the United Kingdom with 58 affiliated unions. It exists to promote and protect the interests of trade union members and to campaign for social justice.

The TUC is involved in a number of high-profile campaigns on a variety of issues, such as workplace rights, pay and conditions, living standards, and equality. It also works to support trade union members when they need help, for example, if they have been wrongly dismissed or are facing redundancy.

The TUC is a major player in British politics and is recognised as such by the major political parties. It meets regularly with government ministers to discuss issues of concern to trade union members and to try to influence government policy.

The TUC is also a member of the European Trade Union Confederation, which represents unions across Europe, and the International Trade Union Confederation, which represents unions worldwide.
