    Missouri is considered a red state. In the federal government, Missouri is represented by two U.S. Senators and eight U.S. Representatives. Both Senators Josh Hawley and Eric Schmitt are Republican. Of the eight Representatives, six are Republican and two are Democrats. Missouri has a Republican governor, Mike Parson, who was reelected in 2022. The state legislature is also controlled by the Republicans, who have majorities in both chambers.
