About our January 6 Committee News

Latest news on January 6 Committee, established to investigate the January 6 attack on the United States Capitol by supporters of former President Donald Trump.

Its full name is The United States House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol and is a bipartisan committee of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Committee received sworn testimony and reviewed over a million documents. It subpoenaed Trump to testify, but he refused and sued the Committee to block the subpoena.

The Committee interviewed over a thousand people and some members of Trump's inner circle cooperated with the committee while others defied it. The Committee referred to a 'criminal conspiracy' that led to the attack on the Capitol.

On December 22, 2022, the Committee's final report was published online. The report was final because the Committee itself expired two weeks later when the 117th Congress ended.
