Fiji, officially known as the Republic of Fiji, is an island country in Melanesia, part of Oceania in the South Pacific Ocean. Fiji consists of an archipelago of around 330 islands, of which 110 are permanently inhabited, and 500 islets. The majority of Fiji's population reside on two of its major islands: Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. Fiji's capital and largest city is Suva.

Fiji has one of the most developed economies among the Pacific islands, mainly through its forest, mineral, and fish resources. The country has a large agriculture sector heavily based on subsistence agriculture, with its main sources of foreign exchange being its sugar exports and tourism industry.
