Latest news on Lai Ching-te, the current Vice President of Taiwan and the president-elect of Taiwan. In April 2023, Lai was nominated by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) for the 2024 presidential election and would later claim victory after achieving 40.05% of the votes. His presidency is set to begin on 20 May 2024, when he will be sworn in as the 16th president of Taiwan.
