About our Ousmane Sonko news

Latest news on Ousmane Sonko, a Senegalese politician born on 12 October 1974. Sonko was the youngest candidate to run in the 2019 presidential election in Senegal when he challenged the incumbent president, Macky Sall.

In June 2023, Sonko was sentenced to two years in prison for 'corrupting youth' by a court in Senegal. The conviction means that he will not be eligible to stand for the country’s upcoming 2024 elections.
