Founded in 1999 as the Atlanta Thrashers, the franchise moved to Winnipeg in 2011. They play their home games at the Canada Life Centre in downtown Winnipeg who they share with their minor league affiliate, the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League (AHL).
They also have another minor league affiliation with the Norfolk Admirals of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).
