About our Washington Commanders news

Latest news on the Washington Commanders, a professional American football team based in Washington, D.C. They are members of the National Football Conference (NFC) of the National Football League (NFL) and have won two NFL championships and three Super Bowls.

The Commanders were founded in 1932 as the Boston Braves, a charter member of the American Football League (AFL). They changed their name to the Boston Redskins in 1933 and moved to Washington in 1937. The side held this name for close to 90 years before rebranding to the Washington Commanders in 2022.

The Commanders have had many legendary players, such as Sammy Baugh, John Riggins, Doug Williams, Darrell Green, and Art Monk. Some of them are inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The Commanders have won five league championships: two NFL championships in 1937 and 1942, and three Super Bowls in 1983, 1988, and 1992. They have also won 15 division titles and made 25 playoff appearances.
