    About our Cleveland Guardians News

Latest news on the Cleveland Guardians, a professional baseball team based in Cleveland, Ohio. Established in 1894 the Guardians were initially known as the Grand Rapids Rippers and first joined the MLB’s American League as the Cleveland Bluebirds in 1901. Throughout their history the Guardians have changed their name various times with the most recent rebrand coming in 2021 after their previous name the ‘Cleveland Indians’ came under criticism.

Throughout their extensive history the Cleveland Guardians have won two World Series championships in 1920 and 1948, and have achieved six American League pennants with their most recent coming in 2016. As of 2023 their World Series drought of 75 years was the longest period without success for any of the 30 active MLB sides. The team's colours are navy blue, red, and white, and the team’s logo showing a baseball with a pair of wings.

The Guardians play their home games at Progressive Field, a stadium located in Cleveland and has been their home ground since 1994. When the stadium opened it had a capacity of over 42,000 and by 2023 had been reduced to 34,000 following various upgrades and renovations.
