About our Scotland Rugby Union news

Latest news on Scotland rugby union, including updates on both the men's and women's national teams, match reports, injury news, and upcoming matches.

The men's team traces its roots back to 1871 with the formation of the Scottish Rugby Union (SRU) and was part of the oldest fixture in international rugby against England, which Scotland won. Since then, the team has been a prominent figure in international rugby. Following the inception of the inaugural Home Nations Championship in 1883, now the Six Nations Championship, the mean's team has won the tournament fourteen times and have appeared in every Rugby World Cup since its creation in 1987.

Similarly, the women's national rugby union team has made significant strides since its first official test match in 1993, with the women's team having won the Home Nations Championship in 1998.
