About our João Félix news

Latest news on João Félix, a Portuguese footballer who plays as a forward for Chelsea. He is known for his versatility, finishing, creativity, and dribbling, and can also play as a winger or an attacking midfielder. Félix initially trained at Porto's youth ranks before moving to rivals Benfica in 2015. He starred as a goalscorer and helped Benfica win the league title in his first and only season with them, and was awarded Primeira Liga's Best Young Player of the Year and the Golden Boy award.

Atlético Madrid signed him in 2019 for a club-record transfer worth €126 million (£113 million), the fourth-most expensive football transfer and the highest fee for a Portuguese player leaving the domestic league.

In October 2022, he was named in Portugal's preliminary 55-man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. He was included in the final 26-man squad and scored his first World Cup goal in Portugal's 3–2 group stage win against Ghana. He also provided two assists in Portugal's 6–1 defeat of Switzerland in the round of 16. Félix is a former Portugal youth international, representing his country at under-18, under-19, and under-21 levels. He won the inaugural edition of the UEFA Nations League with his national team in 2019.
