About our Tour de France Femmes news
Latest news on Tour de France Femmes, a women's cycling stage race that takes place in France, organised by Amaury Sport Organization (ASO), the same company that runs the Tour de France for men. It is part of the UCI Women's World Tour, the highest level of professional women's cycling.
The race was first held in 2022, after years of campaigning by riders and activists for a women's equivalent of the Tour de France. The race features eight stages, covering different terrains and challenges, such as mountains, gravel, sprints and time trials. The race leader wears the yellow jersey (maillot jaune), and there are also other classifications for points, mountains, young rider and team. The first edition of the race was won by Annemiek van Vleuten of Movistar Team Women.
