Editorial Policy

NewsNow regards all websites that publish periodically updated information as potential sources.

In choosing whether a source qualifies for inclusion in its aggregation services, NewsNow does not distinguish between:

• authors or publishers who call themselves news organisations and those who do not;
• authors or publishers with explicit or hidden biases;
• authors or publishers that profess political motivations and those that profess to be objective, independent or unbiased;
• articles reviewed by editors or those published without review;
• factual, speculative, educational, opinion or entertainment pieces, or press releases.

NewsNow does however aim to identify those sources which publish press releases, weblogs, or those which require registration or subscription.

NewsNow aims to aggregate sources that:

• do not consist entirely of articles syndicated from other publications we are already aggregating but write at least some original content;
• do not infringe the copyright of others;
• appear accurate and well-researched, well-written and typo-free;
• conform to a reasonable standard of the language in which they are written;
• do not contain excessive use of profanity;
• do not engage in excessive promotion of goods or services within their editorial content;
• abide by the laws of the land, e.g. are not libellous, defamatory or contain hate speech.

NewsNow reserves the right to decline to add a source if we judge that the effort involved in adding it would outweigh the benefit to users of our services.

NewsNow currently reviews sources for suitability for inclusion on our website as a consequence of:

• a request by a paying customer;
• a request by a website user;
• a need, that we determine our website users or paying customers have;
• a request by a publisher;
• a request by a member of the company.

However, we don't usually record the reason a site was added unless it was specifically asked for by a client.

NewsNow aims to scan every site in our system every 5-10 minutes. However, there will be variations in this due to the performance of the Internet and the sites we scan. Please note that we don't guarantee to scan articles within a certain timeframe, neither do we give priority to any particular site.
