Preston North End Football Club, commonly known as Preston, North End or PNE, compete in the EFL Championship, England's second tier. Based at Deepdale since 1875, the club plays at the oldest continuously used football ground in world league football. With a capacity of over 23,000, the stadium features stands named after club legends Tom Finney, Bill Shankly and Alan Kelly, honouring three figures who shaped the Lilywhites' rich heritage.

The club were a founder member of the Football League in 1888 and won the first two First Division titles in 1888–89 and 1889–90, with the 1888–89 side also winning the FA Cup unbeaten which earned them the legendary title of "The Invincibles." Their last major honour came with an FA Cup victory in 1938, and until 1961 they were regular members of the First Division, though they have not returned to the top flight since.

The club's traditional colours are white shirts and blue shorts, which gave rise to their nickname the Lilywhites. Preston have been in the EFL Championship since winning promotion in 2015.
